We aim to work as closely with the people who plant the trees as possible, to avoid unnecessary overhead and keep the working and communication lines short and sweet. We prefer to work with local partners, as they will have crucial knowledge about the region we’re planting in. This could mean that listen to the expertise of village chiefs in Burkina Faso, or the advice from a small farmers collective in Spain.
Ecosia is committed to full transparency around its tree planting activities and we expect the same from our partners. We regularly publish unfiltered updates from the tree-planters on our blog and Facebook page.
We invest our funds as efficiently as we can. Years of experience, monitoring, research and exchange with other experts have taught us that the need for financial support may vary with each project, depending on the season, location or aim of the planting program.
By being in regular contact with our partners, Ecosia closely follows the progress and challenges of our tree-planting programs. We have a close relationship with all partners to ensure we are always up to date.
